On a half day city tour, drive through fashionable Kensington, with its elegant squares and parks, pass Harrods Department Store, and view Piccadilly and Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, the famous Big Ben, and Buckingham Palace. With time at leisure, perhaps join our in-depth optional tour of The Tower of London and St. Paul’s Cathedral. Next, head to Highclere Castle made famous by the television show Downton Abbey, where you will have free time to explore the castle on your own and have the opportunity to see the rooms used during filming. Guides will be available in each room to talk about the history of the Castle and perhaps reveal some behind-the-scenes anecdotes. Included in your visit is the Egyptian Exhibition which covers the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun by the 5th Earl of Carnarvon and Howard Carter in 1922. Afterward, drive to Oxford for a tour through this famous university city, pointing out sites such as the Sheldonian Theatre, that was designed by Sir Christopher Wren, the Bodleian Library, as well as Christchurch College.
